Ben has been going now for 48 hours, with about half an hours sleep. He’s still amazingly with it, answering questions and chatting in the van, albeit with a slight slur of tiredness. And occasionally falling asleep in the middle of a conversation. He says his legs are holding up well, and he’s still averaging about 16 mph, although at the moment were sat at 24mph!

The long uphill last night was a tough one. It must have been about 6 hours of climbing, all in the dark, with some pretty heavy rain. Tony was riding with Ben for a good chunk of the time, and Will jumped on his bike at 2am to take Ben through to the morning. It seems Ben picks himself up as the suns rises, and I’ll say it again but his messages of support are really helping along the way.
The team are starting to find they are getting tired themselves and have taken a while to get around to the idea of having sleep in 3 hour stints.  Apparently,  this will be increased to 4 or even 6 hour shifts if we do well????. One thing is absolutely certain is that we are more determined than ever to help Ben make it back to Land’s End having achieved everything he set out to achieve.
We’re sitting in the vans in Fort Augustus at the moment, Ben is having his first 1hour sleep, before we crack on to John O’Groats, hoping to reach there some time this evening. Keep an eye on his progress using the tracker, and don’t forget the justgiving link on this site.
